AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud each run their own certification exams, and for most of them a complete video course is free on YouTube. What a course page rarely says is how long it is. ExamPro posts its courses as hundreds of short videos, John Savill posts a few long ones, and the same exam can take ten hours with one teacher and forty with another.

How to choose
- Starting from nothing? Take a fundamentals exam first: AZ-900 with Adam Marczak or John Savill, or Google's Cloud Digital Leader. They are the shortest courses here, and the ideas carry over to the other two clouds.
- Many short videos or a few long ones: ExamPro splits a course into hundreds of small lessons, which fits a commute; Savill's long sessions suit a weekend. The total hours, not the video count, is what to plan by.
- Check the exam code. Cloud exams are revised every year or two. Make sure the code in the course title (SAA-C03, AZ-104) matches the exam you are booking.
