What we collect

• Request logs. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) records the page requested — which includes the playlist, video or channel ID you looked up — plus IP address, user agent and country. Logs are kept for at most 7 days and used only to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
• Analytics. Google Analytics measures which pages are used, in aggregate. It does not know who you are, and we never send it anything about you beyond the page address. See "Analytics" below for what it stores and where.
• Counts, not visitors. Our own database keeps three aggregate tallies: how often each playlist or channel page has been looked up, how many page views came from each country and page type, and how often page features such as the study planner and its calendar export were used, by country. All three are plain counts — no IP address, no identifier, nothing that describes you — and rows are deleted after 30 days.
• What you send us. If you use the contact form, your message, the address you chose to give (if any) and your country are passed through Make (make.com), an automation service, to our email inbox, where one person reads them. Make handles them under its own privacy policy. Only if that delivery fails is the message saved in our own database instead, with which translation you were reading, and deleted from there after 90 days.
• Nothing else. There are no accounts, and we set no cookies of our own. Your "watched" ticks, the playlists you opened recently and your theme preference are stored in your own browser (localStorage) and are never sent to us.

YouTube API Services

This site uses YouTube API Services to read public playlist and video information. By using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We store the API data we fetch (titles, durations, counts) for no longer than 30 days, and we don't fetch anything about you from YouTube.

We never ask for access to your Google account. If you have given any app access to it, you can review and remove that access on Google's security settings page.

Browser extension

Our browser extension, Playlist Length for YouTube™ (Chrome, Edge and Firefox), shows a playlist's length on youtube.com. When you open a playlist there, it sends that playlist's ID to this site — nothing about you, nothing else from the page — and the request is logged like any other and counted as one from the extension. The videos you finish and your playback speed stay in your browser, in the extension's own storage, and are never sent to us; a Plan schedule link you click carries your watched videos after the # in its address, a part browsers do not send to servers. The extension reads nothing on YouTube except the address and the video player's position and speed, runs on no other site, and has no analytics and no ads. Removing it deletes everything it stored.

Advertising and analytics

Analytics. One third party sees your page views: Google Analytics. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it runs with storage switched off — a page view is recorded with no cookies and no identifier — and stays that way unless and until you tell us otherwise. Everywhere else it sets its usual cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's browser add-on.

Ads. This site may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to choose ads based on your earlier visits to this site and to other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, and turn off many other advertising companies' cookies at aboutads.info. How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains what Google does with it. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, no advertising cookies are set until you have answered a consent message, which covers ads and analytics together. If you say no, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised.

Your choices

Clear your browser's site data to remove your watched progress, preferences and any analytics cookies. To have request logs about you removed early, contact us.
