Best free JavaScript courses on YouTube, ranked by total hours
Updated 2026-09-22 · 9 courses · totals are live
JavaScript courses on YouTube come in two kinds: "learn the syntax" series that get you writing code in a weekend, and "how it actually works" series that explain closures, the event loop and prototypes well enough to pass an interview. This list has both, labelled. Every entry is a complete playlist from one instructor, free, and still accurate.
The hours next to each course are live totals from the playlist — click through for every video, tick what you've watched, and plan the rest.

How to choose
- Never programmed before? Net Ninja or Bro Code, then Traversy's projects.
- Can write JS but can't explain it? Namaste JavaScript, both seasons. Watch at 1× — the whiteboard parts reward attention.
- Learning in Hindi? Chai aur JavaScript is the more modern of the two; CodeWithHarry has more exercises.
- Going for a framework next? Finish the async playlist first. React and friends assume it.
Then what?
