How long is KPSS preparation on YouTube? 11 free courses, measured

Watching one free konu anlatımı (topic lecture) course for each KPSS subject on YouTube takes 334 hours. We measured the eleven courses on our KPSS list on 25 October 2026, counting every video to the last: Benim Hocam's Tarih is 127 hours, Yargı Plus's Matematik 71, Coğrafyanın Kodları's Coğrafya 55, Benim Hocam's Vatandaşlık 46 and its Türkçe 35.
At 1.5× speed that is 223 hours: 37 minutes a day for a year, or an hour and 13 minutes a day for six months. Türkçe is the shortest of the five courses, though it is half of the general ability paper. The genel tekrar (revision) camps are a different size altogether: Yediiklim's history camp and Hoca Kafası's citizenship revision come to 43 hours together.

Totals are rounded to the hour; Benim Hocam's Tarih is 126 hours 42 minutes exactly. All eleven are 2026 or 2027 series, and several are still being added to. None has a private or deleted video. Hours of video for each exam question
In recent exams the general culture paper (genel kültür) has 60 questions: 27 on history, 18 on geography, 9 on citizenship and 6 on current affairs. The general ability paper (genel yetenek) has 30 on Türkçe and 30 on maths. Set against the courses, with "Qs" the number of questions, the lecture time per question is uneven:

Vatandaşlık takes the most video for each question it brings, and Türkçe the least: 30 questions, half the general ability paper, for 35 hours of lectures. Türkçe and Matematik are learnt by solving rather than by listening, so for them the lectures are the smaller part of the work. It is a reason to keep Vatandaşlık in proportion, not to skip it: nine questions are nine questions, and the Hoca Kafası revision covers it in under 10 hours. Long lectures or short videos
Benim Hocam teaches in long lectures: Ramazan Yetgin's Tarih is 60 videos of just over two hours each, and 35 of them run past two hours. Retro Yayıncılık's Tarih covers the same syllabus in 154 numbered lessons of about 35 minutes, which is easier to fit around a job or a commute. It is also 25 hours shorter, and its playlist includes a single 4-hour-57-minute video that revises all of history in one sitting, plus question-solving and practice-exam sessions.
The other courses mix lectures and questions. Yargı Plus's Matematik is İlyas Güneş's 80 lessons, 58 hours, then ten revision sessions by Burkay Işık, 13 hours more. In the Coğrafya course, 35 of the 73 videos are question solving, 20 hours of its 55.
Türkçe splits the same way as Tarih. Kadir Gümüş's course on Benim Hocam is 45 lessons of about 45 minutes, from ses bilgisi to sözel mantık. Aker Kartal's on Retro covers the same syllabus in 88 lessons, 53 of its 91 videos under 20 minutes, and ends in a single 4-hour video that revises all of Türkçe. Choosing one over the other hardly changes the total: 33 hours against 35.
Hours a day until the exam
The lecture time a day for the first pass (one konu anlatımı course per subject, 334 hours) and for the revision camps (43 hours), watching every day:

Six months out, the whole first pass is about an hour and a quarter a day at 1.5×. With two months left it is over three and a half hours a day, which is when the revision camps make sense instead: they assume you have seen the material once. Taking Retro's Tarih instead of Benim Hocam's makes the first pass 309 hours. These are video hours, before the practice exams that KPSS is decided by; treat them as the floor. History and citizenship lectures follow well at 1.5×; maths and Türkçe grammar, where you should be solving alongside, much less (what each speed costs →).
Check the total covers every video
Some playlist length tools add up only the first 100 videos and stop without saying so. Two of these playlists are longer than that: the first 100 videos of Retro's Tarih come to 62 hours of its 102, and Yediiklim's DKAB course is 101 videos. For the lectures alone, at 1.5×: about 37 minutes a day with a year to go, an hour and a quarter with six months, and over three and a half hours with two. Question solving and practice exams come on top, and for KPSS they are the larger part.
